DEMA: Membership meeting

8:30AM Thursday morning over 250 Scuba industry members packed into a conference room to discuss the state of the industry and it's future.

Tom Ingram, DEMA's Executive Director, first gave a 45 minute presentation regarding DEMA's research and efforts.  About 9:10 Tom opened the floor for question and comments, and this is why most people had come...

First, Tom announced that the DEMA Board of Directors had directed a re-balloting  [of the October 2008 by-law vote] take place.  This seems to be directly related to the pressure from Unified Scuba Industry petition

About 9:15 Susan Long, DUI, formerly presented the petition and it drew a large round of applause from the room.

9:45 - Al Hornsby, PADI and DEMA President, formerly announced his resignation from the DEMA Board effective immediately.
